PT Indorama Synthetics Tbk is planning to meet its electricity requirement by setting up a Captive Power plant at its principal manufacturing facility located at Purwakarta, Indonesia.
The management has taken initiative amid possibilities of further rise in power tariffs due to removal of all subsidies on fuel and decided to invest in its own power generation plant.
The Plan is to construct 2 x 30 MW coal based co-generation power plant spread over an area of 16 hectares at its existing manufacturing facility located at Purwakarta.
The EPC contract has been awarded to China Huadian Engineering Co, China with long term financing provided by International Finance Corporation, the private sector arm of the World Bank.
