Indorama Industries Limited (IIL), a company of Indorama Corporation, has set up a green field project to produce Spandex Filament Yarns at Baddi, Himachal Pradesh in India. The state-of -the-art plant is equipped with the latest technology to produce 5,000 MT of yarns per annum in the range of 20 Denier to 1,120 Denier.
This is the first investment in the field of spandex filament manufacturing business in India and is expected to generate a positive impetus to the Indian clothing and textile industry. Various segments of the Indian textile industry will gain access to domestic supply of spandex yarns and knowhow, and raise their value addition substantially.
IIL believes in strong emphasis on new product development and technical services to satisfy the working and functional requirements of various end users. The company aims to provide marketing support to create global demand for fabrics produced using its branded spandex and also provide hand-tag support to retailers.
This project has already created a lot of enthusiasm among the clothing fraternity in the Indian subcontinent.
